The vineyards
Bordeaux and its region are famous for their wines around the world. 80% of red wines, 20% of white wines and an important part of liquor-like wines are produced there. With its 5 to 6 hectolitres of wine per year, the Bordeaux region stays at the first place in the French production though it is only the third biggest wine-making department in the country.

La cité du vin is located alongside the Garonne in Bacalan, a district a little bit far from the center. However, it has its own tramway station on tram line B, which makes it very accessible.
